Positioned on the second floor within the house's historic section, accessible via a quaint, narrow staircase. The Bennington exudes spaciousness with its luxurious king bed. For those traveling in a trio, a convertible love seat is available for an additional guest at an added fee. The room's elegance is further enhanced by a bathroom equipped with a traditional tub and shower combination.

Orleans

The Orleans, situated on the second floor within the house's historic section, boasts luminous interiors complemented by a stately king bed. Accessible via a quaint, narrow staircase, this room has an en suite bath uniquely enhanced by a skylight ceiling in the shower. Please note, owing to the shower design, this space might not be ideal for our taller guests.

Situated on the ground floor at the heart of the house, The Windham boasts a central location. This room showcases a queen bed set against a distinct wall crafted from the barn's original flooring. Complementing its charm, there's a private bathroom equipped with a classic tub and shower combination.

Occupying a serene spot on the second floor of the historic farmhouse, The Addison beckons guests into its warm embrace. As you settle in, catch a tranquil glimpse of the Mad River peeking through the verdant canopy of trees outside. Inside, a queen bed adorned with a luxuriously soft featherbed awaits, ensuring restful slumbers. Completing this haven of relaxation, the room offers a private bathroom fitted with a convenient step-in shower.

Located on the second floor, The Chittenden presents itself as a soothing sanctuary. Its queen bed, crowned with a vintage natural wood sleigh headboard, exudes a charm reminiscent of times gone by. The adjoining private bathroom, equipped with a classic shower and tub combination, is illuminated by soft light filtering through a beautifully crafted stained glass window, adding a touch of artistry and ambiance.

Policies
Deposit Policy
For single-night stays, full payment, including taxes, is required upon booking. For stays spanning multiple nights, a deposit equivalent to one night's stay plus taxes is needed to secure the reservation.
Cancellation Policy
A 2-week notice from the day of arrival is required to refund the deposit, minus a $50 administrative fee. If a cancellation is made within 14 days of the arrival date, the deposit is forfeited. Cancellations on the day of arrival, "no shows", or early departures are charged the full amount for the reserved days. We cannot offer refunds for unused nights due to illness, airline cancellations, emergencies, weather concerns, or other travel disruptions, nor for changes that shorten your stay. Consider obtaining vacation insurance online to safeguard against unforeseen circumstances. Modifying dates within 14 days of your reservation is subject to our cancellation policy.
Additional Person Policy
We accommodate one additional guest in our Washington and Bennington rooms. Children under 2 stay for free. For children aged 3-16, there's a charge of $35 per night in these rooms. We suggest booking an extra room for guests aged 16 and up, but if they share the room with you, there's a $50/night fee.
Dog policy
We warmly welcome a single dog in two of our guest rooms, adhering to the following guidelines:

A nightly dog fee of $35 applies.

Dogs must be kept "under control" in all public areas on the premises.

Dogs should not be left unattended for prolonged periods.

Furniture is off-limits for dogs; owners are expected to ensure this.

Clean up after your dog is essential. For drying pets, please request pet towels from our staff; bath towels are not to be used for this purpose.

During housekeeping hours, which will be scheduled at check-in, dogs should be removed from the room. Alternatively, guests may choose to forego housekeeping services. Should a dog display aggressive behavior towards staff, guests, or other animals, it must be promptly removed from the premises unless other arrangements are agreed upon with management.

Pet owners assume full responsibility for any liability, claims, losses, or costs (including attorney’s fees) due to personal injury or property damage caused by their pet and will cover such damages upon request.

Pet owners agree to indemnify and defend 1824 House Inn and Barn, including its owners and employees, from any liability, claims, or expenses (including attorney’s fees) resulting from injury or property damage caused by their pet.
