Deposit Policy

For single night stays we require full payment including taxes at time of booking. For multiple night stays we require a 1 night stay plus taxes as deposit to reserve the room. 

Cancellation Policy

We require 2 weeks notice from day of arrival for refund of deposit less a a $50 administration fee. Cancellations made within 14 days from arrival date result in loss of deposit. Day of arrival cancellations, “no shows” or early departures will be liable for the total amount for reserved days. We will not be held responsible for unused nights due to illness, cancelled airline flights, family emergencies, threat of bad weather and other travel related mishaps or for changes in plans which shorten your stay. Vacation Insurance is available online to inexpensively protect you against unexpected events. Changing dates within 14 days of your reserved arrival date falls within our cancellation policy.

Additional Person Policy

We welcome a single additional human in our Washington and Bennington rooms. Children under the age of 2 are complimentary. Children 3-16 are welcome in the two above rooms for a charge of $35 per night. For additional guests 16 and older, we recommend an additional room, however if they must stay with you we do charge $50/night.

Dog Policy

We are pleased to welcome a single dog to 2 of our guest rooms with the following guidelines: There is a dog fee of $35/night.

  • Pet owners agree to keep their dog “under control” while the pet is in any public place on the grounds. 
  • Pet owners agree to not leave their pet unattended for extended periods of time. 
  • Pet owners agree to keep their pet off all furniture. Pet owners agree to clean up after their dog. 
  • Pet towels are available from the staff for drying of pets. Do not use bath towels. 
  • Pet owners should remove their pet from the room during housekeeping service or opt not to receive housekeeping services. (Specific time to be scheduled @ check in). If a pet becomes aggressive to any staff, guest or other animal at 1824 House, the pet owner must promptly remove the pet from the property, unless other arrangements are made with management.
  • Pet owners accept full responsibility for any and all liability, claims, losses, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) for personal injury or property damage caused by pet and agrees to make reimbursement for such damages on demand. 
  • Pet owners agree to indemnify, hold harmless, and defend 1824 House Inn and Barn, its owners and employees from any and all liability, claims, losses, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising out of or relating to any claim for personal injury or property damage caused by pet.
