Our Commitment to Our Guests
With everything that is going on, we find ourselves in a very fluid situation that can change daily if not sooner. We will always strive to keep you up-to-date with details, so you can have a better understanding of what to expect during your stay at the 1824 House Inn + Barn. We are continually working to give you the best experience and your health and safety has always been forefront, but even more so these days. We ask for the same consideration from you. Whilst at the inn or out and about in the Valley please look out for others by taking responsibility for your actions, adhering to social distancing, having masks in place and keeping those hands washed!!! We at the 1824 House, and we speak for the whole Mad River Valley with fair confidence, are so excited to have you with us! Although our welcoming smiles are behind masks, our starry eyes or Farrell’s use of “jazz hands” for her greeting will let you know what a pleasure it is to have you stay with us.

What We Are Doing
We are guided by the Vermont Department of Health, VOSHA and the CDC.
Staff will have daily health/symptom checks when arriving to the Inn.
Staff will wear masks while indoors and/or in contact with guests.
Existing and enhanced housekeeping procedures for cleanliness and sanitization using CDC/EPA approved disinfectants that meet and exceed industry best practices and standards have been instituted on a heightened schedule, including frequent cleaning of common rooms and high touch
points throughout the Inn and Barn.
We have multiple hand sanitizing stations on the property.
Before Your Stay
Please see the state of Vermont’s Cross State Travel Information here.
We have instituted contact-less check-in including emails and text messaging. All the details you need to know for your arrival will be sent via text message.
The Innkeepers are onsite and always available via text during your stay
Any guests that exhibit signs of illness or COVID-19 symptoms upon arrival will not be permitted to check in.
If symptoms begin during your stay you will be asked to leave and return home if possible. If departure is not possible, guests must self-isolate for the remainder of your stay and we will contact the Vermont Department of Health.
Guests will be required to wear masks while inside buildings in common areas (you are not required to wear a mask while in your guest room) and out on the grounds if social distancing cannot happen.
Guests are required to keep 6′ social distancing between traveling parties inside buildings and around property.
For the health and safety of staff and guests, we are suspending daily housekeeping services. If you would like fresh towels, we have provided a laundry bag in your closet. Simply place your dirty towels in the bag and set it outside your guest room door. Text the innkeepers and we will gather your dirty towels and set fresh towels with a new bag outside your door. Should you need greater service please text the innkeepers to discuss.
Every morning an amazing breakfast is included. To comply with occupancy and distancing standards, a specific time for breakfast service may need to be coordinated the day before. Greater detail of breakfast service will be a part of your pre-arrival information.
We are moving to get our website ADA accessible for people with disabilities. We will be implementing the guidelines and conducting tests on a regular basis. If, at any time, you have specific questions or concerns about the accessibility of any particular webpage on 1824house.com, please contact us.
