The 1824 House Inn invites you to join hands and hearts
and celebrate your love in Vermont’s Mad River Valley.
Reminiscent of its farming roots, this
graceful country farmhouse and beautifully
restored 19th century
post-and-beam barn, set on 15 pastoral
acres, is a picture perfect backdrop to a
Vermont wedding or civil union.
Imagine your wedding
celebration in an enchanting barn or high
peaked tent. Or, best of all, enjoy both.
The manicured back pasture is ideally suited
for tented events, and our fully modernized
barn - still with the right amount of rustic
charm – is a magnificent complement. Let
your guests enjoy cocktails in the elegantly
lit barn, with a string trio playing from
the hayloft, and then move to the tent for a
delectable sit down meal.
Return to the barn
for music and dancing – the wide planked
floors and warm lighting make it fun and
easy to dance the night away. Plus, the barn
is equipped with a rich wood bar, comfortable bathrooms, making it a
great stand-alone venue for ceremonies,
receptions, or rehearsal dinners.
If an outdoor ceremony is
in your dreams we have several romantic
sites. A tree encircled knoll along the
banks of the north-flowing Mad River or the
upper meadow, with its panoramic views.
More than likely, you have
a sketch in your mind of what your wedding
day will look and feel like. Let us help you
to complete that picture, with bright, vivid
colors or warm and subtle hues. We love to
play a role in making dreams come true and
our years of wedding planning and catering
experience are at your service.
