Set in the picturesque Mad River Valley, home to the Sugarbush and Mad River Glen ski resorts, The 1824 House is small, intimate country inn that features comfortable rooms with private baths and superb dining. Whether you are here on a weekend getaway, a once in a lifetime visit to New England, or celebrating your wedding at our Inn, you will be treated as our special guests, but will leave here our friends.

Take advantage of our mud season* special. Between now and May 15th room rates range from $79 to $99 per night and include our delicious three course breakfast.

*Mud Season - That time in Vermont when you might be able to get in some good spring skiing with no crowds, go for a long bike ride, visit an active sugarhouse making some delicious maple syrup AND see some crocuses or daffodils...all in the same day.

At the Restaurant

Our restaurant is open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday 5:30pm to 8:00pm. Reservations are suggested. Our menu features the finest local meats, produce, and cheeses.

Sunday Suppers

We prepare a Sunday Supper in the tradition of home-cooking with an elegant flair...of course! Each Sunday the 3-Course Prix Fixe Meal features a different entree such as Chicken Pot Pie or Meatloaf and Mashed Potatoes.
